Whether you’re meeting for a drink before heading to your dinner reservations, sharing an intimate evening over an exquisite bottle of wine, or popping in for a nightcap before calling it a night, Vita’s Place is your place. Like some of our favorite wines, our wine bar is unpretentious and approachable with just the right spice and a hint of something familiar. If you’re new to wines, we’ll gladly offer you a guided tour based on your personal tastes. And even OG oenophiles are sure to discover something new on our uniquely curated wine list.

Our
Vita’s Place is locally owned by Ryan and Jenny Sciara. Ryan has been in the wine and restaurant industries for over 30 years and is one of Kansas City’s leading wine and spirits talents. In 2006, Ryan founded the highly successful Cellar Rat Wine Merchants, which he sold in 2013. In 2014, he was at it again, opening Underdog Wine Co., which is also located in The Crestwood Shops. He’s been featured in local and national magazines including InKC Magazine, Kansas City Homes & Gardens, Kansas City Business Journal, Wine Spectator Magazine, Vine Pair, Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Imbibe and Food & Wine.

Vita’s Place is a celebration of Vitina, Vita for short. Grandma Vita’s house was one of our favorite places in the world. We spent countless hours with Vita in her kitchen. It’s where we learned that taking care of others comes before taking care of yourself. Vita’s kitchen was also the first place we ever tasted wine. It was from the jug she kept on the counter. Today, we honor Vita, and her love of life, family and wine. And we welcome you into our place, just as she would if she were here today. Perhaps she is. In a way.

Our vision for Vita’s Place has always been to create the perfect, comfortable neighborhood joint where friends, family and lovers can sit back and let us take care of them. We could think of no better home for Vita’s Place than the historic Crestwood Shops, which have been a Kansas City fixture since 1922. Just east of Brookside Boulevard, Vita’s Place is within walking distance of the Country Club Plaza and Brookside neighborhood, right on the Trolley trail. Why not make us your new neighborhood spot?
